Surprisingly the usage of social media has found to be increased among the rural population rather than the urban population, there is relationship between the WhatsApp usage and Personality traits especially narcissistic personality. To find the significant relationship between WhatsApp addiction and narcissistic personality among college students those belongs to rural background. 150 college students within the age group 17-23, who exposed to WhatsApp were selected using purposive sampling method. Narcissistic Personality Inventory (NPI-16) and WhatsApp questions were administered. It has been found that the college students exhibit traits for narcissistic personality which, in the mere future might lead to need for excessive admiration and attention, envy of others, and arrogance and also they are in the verge of getting addicted towards WhatsApp, which might lead to lack of concentration, lack of communication and ‘part of missing’ syndrome. These characteristics which are negative, pose threat to one’s life. The study concluded that there is no significant relationship between narcissistic personality and WhatsApp addiction.
