Indian English fiction or Indian Literature in English is an amalgamation of the multilingual, multicultural and socio-historical pasticcio, at the apex of creation sustained by the beneficence of regional and national writers. Indian writing in English or Indian English fiction has been extensively acknowledged as the most pertinent form for the ascertainment of the interpretations and the experiences in the current world. R.K. Narayan has made relevant distinctions as a regional novelist in English literature, perfecting the genre. The striking aspect of Narayan‟s writing is the unaltered rendering of the Indian personality. A close understanding of Narayan‟ works can be carried out by the better understanding of his art.
