This paper is a modest attempt on the Teaching Methods and Techniques which are individually involved in the learning process of English as a global language. It is to be in reference to the language planning in total while involving instructional plans, professional curriculum, syllabus designing and selection of appropriate materials. Methods are used to teach linguistic language whereas techniques in teaching are closely related to teaching of literature. The methods will be in scientific mould like Phonetics and Etymology. John Munby refers to English for Specified Purposes (ESP).The methods seek training the students in using language skills-LSRW. Modern Technology of scientific education facilitates the use of language laboratory to train the students in Listening and Speaking while the Career Laboratory takes care of the skills of Reading and Writing. Without reading habit no good will turn out in mere listening to the lectures of spoken English.
