spiritual well-being scale developed by Paloutzian and Ellison (1982) was administered on 50 male and 50 female inpatients living with HIV. The main objectives of the present study were: (a) to examine difference between the mean scores of male and female HIV inpatients on existential well-being (EWB) and religious well-being (RWB) dimensions of spiritual well-being scale; and (b) to examine difference between the mean scores of male and female HIV inpatients on overall scores obtained on spiritual well-being scale (SWB). Results revealed that significant differences were not found between the mean scores of male and female HIV inpatients on both dimensions of spiritual well-being (i.e. religious well-being and existential well-being) and overall scores obtained on spiritual well-being scale. Key-words: religious well-being, male and female HIV inpatients, spiritual fitness, spiritual personality, spiritual support, spiritual distress, etc.
