Teachers in this global age are expected to be knowledgeable in their profession, maintain high academic standards and must use different strategies which suit all types of learners. Teacher development is an on-going, in-depth, and intensive program. It should bring a significant change in the educational program which results in the academic growth of teachers. Professional development to teachers is more than training/classes but beyond the class room practices. Teacher can develop his professional skills through personal reflection i.e. introspection, interactions with colleagues and mentoring with experts which could have a positive impact on teacher’s pedagogical skills and content knowledge. Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) is a centrally sponsored scheme to achieve the universalization of Secondary Education (Std. IX and X).
