View differ on the impact of Rousseauvian idealism on English Romanticism, while the influence remains unquestionable. Rousseau's 'natural state' is one of primordial innocence of irrational ism and illogic ism which arguably suited the themes the Romantics were always fascinated with. Rousseau's Social Contract offers a prototype of socialist communism which later on subscribed by Shelley, Blake and any number of Romantic poets.
