Psychological disorders otherwise called as mental disorders. There are several psychological disorders. Present paper describes five disorders – Anxiety disorders, Mood disorders, Somatoform disorders, Dissociative disorders and Schizophrenia. Psychological disorders leads to an impaired ability to function in daily life and maladaptive behavior. Maladaptive or abnormal behavior is self – destructive, harmful to others and against to the contemporary societal norms. A person suffering from mental illness is unhappy for his maladaptive behavior and the other people may be worried about what might happen if the person is not removed from society.
