This paper focuses on the female characters portrayed by Shakespeare. The women during Shakespearean age belonged to the Elizabethan Era and had to undergo various difficult things. Women were treated based on their economic level, but some rules remained common for women of all classes. The paper discusses the women during the Shakespearean age and later describes the various categories that the women characters could be categorized into. There were common features that women in Shakespeare’s plays carried. Finally, the paper depicts the powerful women that were the true heroes of some of plays and bought and incredible flavor to the plays.
