Covid- 19 (Corona virus) has played havoc with almost All the nations of the world. The virus, emanating from Vuhan in China, has become pandemic, and has taken lives of several lakhs of people besides ruining the economies of almost all nations. World health organization (W.H.O.) has given the disease the name of Covid -19, after taking into account the guidelines on the subject. As per the agreed guidelines of who, World Health Organization for Animal health and Food and agriculture organization of United Nations Organizations, they had to find a name that did not refer to a geographical location, an animal, an individual, a group of individuals and which was also pronounced and related to the disease. Accordingly, the WHO named the disease as Covid. There was severe criticism against WHO on the ground that the top functionary of the organization was more interested in avoiding stigmatization, rather than finding a cure because initially the virus was called Vuhan virus and after about two months of outbreak, the who came up with a name to the disease.
