Students prefer graduation to develop their communication skill for getting employment. With this dream they enter colleges. They are sure that after getting degree they can get employment with their communication skill. Whether they develop communication skill in colleges, is a big question? In colleges students study English as part II language. Their syllabus contains prose, poetry, short stories, drama, grammar and composition. Questions also framed according to the syllabus. So the students have to study these entire portions in one semester to pass the semester examination. The syllabus is taught to enable the students to pass the exam. But the aim of the syllabus is to develop communication skill. The teachers are in the position to complete their syllabus and make the students to get pass mark in the examination. Internal marks also help them to pass the exam easily. Their aim is to pass the paper instead of understanding the language. They concentrate on syllabus and study the language as one of the subjects. In this connection grammar takes an important role. This article is about the Communicative Approach for teaching grammar for the Graduates.
