ALong walk for Bina is a novella written by Ruskin Bond in the year 2002. In this novella Ruskin Bond depicts the adventures of three school children - Bina, Sonu and Prakash. Their day to day experiences on their way to school make them aware of the loss of the natural habitat around them. They also realise the pros and cons of building the dam. This paper attempts to study the ways in which Ruskin Bond has combined ecological and developmental issues with a simple children’s narrative of adventure, through this combination, the writer effectively inculcates values for life.
