The Indian media is permeating in nature. In India there are more television sets than college degrees. Media plays a pivotal role in changing the perceptions of people all around the globe. It is like a powerful Goddess whom the society blindly believes. Beyond these true portrayals of good and bad things, much information is misrepresented. The information relevant to the transgender people is often misrepresented by the society Transgender is an umbrella term. Transgender is not a bad term; it is a good term to use. Transgender people experience their transgender identity in a variety of ways. Some embrace their transgender feelings, while others struggle with feelings of shame and disgust. Transgender is not a mental disorder. Their mistreatment ranges from the very commonplace to outright violence. This paper focuses on the various media portrayals of the transgender figures, the injustice and abuse, the transgender community faces.
