Education aims at the harmonious and all round development of human personality in terms of physical, mental, social, emotional, spiritual, aesthetic and cultural aspects. Harmonious development of an individual’s personality needs various activities to be organized in and out of the class in an educational institution. The activities like games, sports, athletics, singing, dancing, painting, hobbies provide opportunities for self-expressions and ensure inculcation and development of moral values in students on which progress of individual, society and nation depends. Moral values are the values we need most to be inculcated in schools. Present educational system mainly caters to the intellectual needs in terms of academic achievement in the students. These needs are also not properly and adequately taken care of. It imparts children some knowledge and skills more at a theoretical and superficial level, that is why, modern education is called lopsided and partisan. With a view to make good citizens, a number of qualities at head and heart have to be developed in young pupils. Most important of them are relating to character, morality or ethics. Education without above vision is waste, education without moral value is crime, and education without mission is life’s burden. Keeping above in mind National Curriculum Framework also advocates regarding need of activity based curriculum with emphasis on value education. The present study reveals the fact that association in involvement of the co-curricular activities , its effect on Academic performance and Inculcation of values of the students. Most of the studies have been carried out and they have revealed the fact that particular co-curricular activities certainly effects on the academic achievements and inculcation of values of the students. The purpose of this research is to establish that co-curricular activities in which university students participate have a positive effect on their academic achievements and value inculcation. The study was conducted by using the questionnaire filling technique which was distributed among 720 students of the senior secondary school students. The study gave the fact that according to the students involved in any kind of sports, participating in dramatic and other literary activities not necessarily affects their academic performance, while various activities also some positive impact on inculcation of values. So, it can be deduced from the study that co-curricular activities not significantly affect academic achievements of the students and this impact also depends upon those activities in which the students are keenly involved also towards inculcation of values.
