The objective of this research paper is to evident the present status of working women of Tamilnadu. Tamilnadu is one of the twenty nine states of India. It is the eleventh largest state, sixth most populous state, one of the seven developed states in India. This research paper intends to limelight the numerous roles played by working women of Tamilnadu. It enumerates their status, requisites, challenges and risks faced, basic rights, types of harassments in the society and workplace. It also enlists the roles and responsibilities of working women in Tamilnadu. The researchers have made an attempt to protrude the gender bias of working women experienced in workplace right from their salary to promotion, their sacrifices such as health, kids, family, food, even their salary too. This article exegeses the tenebrous side of working women. Many great leaders of Tamilnadu struggled a lot and fought against gender bias, child marriage etc. It is indispensable that women have been empowered with education, equal share in their father’s property, placed in all the disciplines, protected with constituted laws against domestic violence, harassments etc. In addition, it is also evident that the uncivilized male chauvinists who are ruled by their egos in the society and workplace handicap the working women in all the sectors, which affect the proficient, masterful working women to reverse from their career to be the home administrators. This research is an eye-opener to all the civilians to aware of the hurdles faced by working women in order to realize their inestimable contribution to their kin and kith and the society.
