The famous lord siva temple here. It was created by Rajaraja cholan. in that name as Alanduraiyar Temple. One of the Avatar of parasuram was came to that temple. It was history of Alanduraiyar Temple. Alanduraiyar Temple is a Hindu temple in the village of Kilpaluvur in Ariyalur District of Tamil Nadu, India. Dedicated to the god Shiva, the temple dates to remote antiquity and is associated with the 7th-century saint Thirugnanasam Bandar. The Lord is believed to be self-formed (Suyambu lingam). Annai Umayaval (Devi) performs penance standing on one leg for the welfare of the living beings on earth. As the Lord is formed of the sand of anthill, the shrine expounds the philosophy of earth among the ‘Panchaboothams’ (the five entities by which the living beings are believed to be created according to the Hindu methology – Earth, Water, Air, Fire and Sky) .
