The present paper examines the most popular scheme of Indira Kranthi Pathakam (IKP), in which how women beneficiaries made use of it in terms of betterment of their life in the process women’s life both in Warangal and Karimnager district of Telangana region. It is a viable alternative to achieve the objective of rural development and to get community participation in all rural developmental programmes. A study was conducted in major two districts of Telangana state. Based on the empirical study in the chosen districts, the research on this scheme has been comprehensively done with special reference to socio –economic condition of poor women. Its main objective is to uplift the women’s life in all means. Further, this paper is divided into three sections. The first section deals with the introduction of IKP and its existence in the region and the review of literature. The second section delineates the empirical study of selected districts with the selected mandals wise in which how IKP members have got benefited immensely through this scheme. The third section being the conclusion in which the recommendations and justifications would be made in an acceptable manner. Keywords: IKP, beneficiaries, socio-economics, community, empowerment
