India is a country that is widely acclaimed around the world in terms of geographical coverage, population and for its leadership abilities across the world. Today the Indians are very widely acclaimed and recognized over the world as leaders. Global companies and MNC’s today are looking towards India for the people who can carefully drive their companies towards the higher market share. Particularly, Women are given a very prominent position in India from the traditional times. Today Indian Women are forerunners in everything and they are in the process of empowerment by which they not only empower themselves but also their families and there by the country and the world. Women empowerment is going to be the buzz word for the developing economy like India, where women are not anymore confined to the kitchens but they are now showing their capabilities and talents in the field of any business right from retail to the MNC’s. Today’s women are very actively taking part in many businesses and they are bringing dynamic changes in the board rooms. But the real empowerment takes place only when women in rural India are empowered right from the village level and this case study in particular highlights one such case study of women empowerment that was being the role model for India and many such empowering economies happened in KULTIKRI Village of West Bengal.
