ST population in India increased to 10.43 crores in 2011 from 8.46 crores in 2001 as per the census reports. Telangana State has the largest ST population among the southern states of India. Khammam District in Telangana has the largest ST population (27.4%) as per latest census, 2011. Tribals have traditional methods, mostly for health problems, Common beliefs, customs and practices are followed in the treatment of diseases. Tribals neglect child care and maternal care. They use roots, leaves and other parts of plants and trees to cure ailments and believe the local Gods and mantras. The basic objective of this paper is to examine the health facilities and practices in a Tribal village. 50 respondents are selected from Thallagudem village of Kamepalli mandal of Khammam district for the study. Primary data is mostly used in this study.
