International Labour Organisation, Food and Agricultural Organisation and National Population Census data revealed that women constituted 38 per cent of agricultural labour force in developing countries. The present region-specific study is conducted in Ariyalur District of Tamil Nadu, India in order to examine the extent of participation of farm women in agriculture and their contribution in family income. The main objective of the present study is to assess the contribution of sample women farmers towards agricultural production and family income. The present study reveals that participation in agricultural operations by the sample men farmers and their spouses is positively influenced by their sizes of income.
