Literature reviews are important to academics in all fields (Bensman, 2007), Generally literature reviews become an integral part of research publications, but they can also be a research publication on their own right (Garfield, 1987). Thispaper contains the results map of literature survey carried out for research entitled Media Role in Public Perceptions of Policing and Law and order in Hyderabad. The systematic approach was used. Content analysis of fourteen studies has been included in the paper. This systematic map revealed a number of important features about research on media and public perceptions on policing. One of the conclusions is, that it may not be easy to get consistent themes of relevance to media role on public perceptions of policing. The most frequently seen research area is the effects of media on public opinion of policing. There were almost no studies on media role in public perceptions of policing and law and order.
