The article discusses about the significance of leadership positions in the organisational structure at various levels and also the abilities, competencies possessed / acquired by the individual employees at non - officers category, who are capable to produce and deliver the excellent results by taking the most appropriate timely decisions . It is observed that the all functional departments like operations including the Pilots and Cabin Crew, Engineering, Commercial, Catering and the Other functional departments like Finance, HR(D) etc., are well functioning with team spirit in the public sector national airlines. The conclusion derived from the study is that the leadership is successful only when the employees at various levels should function in coordinated manner with team spirit which finally results in success. The innovation / creativity also exist at staff level category. The position wise leaders have to recognise and motivate the talent of the workforce which finally contributes for the overall development. i.e., it results in more consumer satisfaction.
