The concept of empowerment is a dynamic one. As a matter of fact, in order to achieve the status of a developed country, India needs to transform its colossal women force into an effective human resource and this is possible only with the empowerment of women through the tool of education. The instrument of education increases „women‟s self- confidence and enables them to find better jobs, engage in public debate and make demands on government for health care, social security and other entitlements‟. Above all, education empowers women to make choices that improve their lives and promote their welfare. In a nutshell Education is the preeminent method for the empowerment and emancipation of women .By this research paper I would critically analyze the notion of Empowerment of women and its challenges which can be successfully overcome by the potent device of Education.
