Sustainable development is the need of the hour as it provides a number of diverse prospects for escalating revenues through measures taken in form of improved products, optimization of green technology, upholding good-will with stake-holders, lowering cost of material, energy, and services. This research is the outcome of the data generated from IOCL Refinery employees to analyze the factors that constitute sustainability and excellence through Holistic entrepreneurship. Holistic entrepreneurial skill involves purity of mind and action for societal enrichment with a sense that we are surrendering both the work and fruit to the Master Worker with my best of abilities called Nishkam Karma reveling the feeling of Poorna or intrinsically-adequate in all aspects. The very vision of IOCL “Trust, Care, Passion and Innovation” signifies Holistic approach towards being the leading petroleum company in India and to achieve this target various functional and developmental trainings are imparted to IOCL employees throughout the year from time to time, as par schedule of duly approved training calendar by the top management, which is arrived by especially tailored comprehensive program called as TIN i.e. (Training, need identification) program meant to sharpen the overall skill sets of identified employees thereby preparing them for holistic entrepreneurship and leadership in the corporation. Cutting Edge training, Emotionally Competent Leadership, Strategic Human Resource, Odyssey to Transformational Leadership, Developing Wealth Creating Strategic Mindset, Business Risk Management are few amongst the many out –bound, on site and off site Trainings and skill sharpening programs imparted at IOCL. IMA (Indian Oil Management) and IIPM ( Indian Oil Institute of Petroleum Management) are government aided entities at IOCL, aimed at meeting the challenging task of arranging especially moduled out-bound training cum residential programs, which are targeted for making the employees perform outstandingly when they go back at work place. Through comprehensive cosmic, yogic, and meditative exercises along with core competencies; holistic vision is imbibed for inculcation of selfless devotion for sustainability and to shoulder their corporal responsibility in befitting manner. And later their performances are evaluated through E-PMS system i.e. Electronic Performance/ appraisal Management system, especially tailored to asses on the parameters of CPV Competency Perseverance and Values followed by yearly goals and targets set in the commencement of the financial year. As Shri Sanjeev Singh, Director Refineries of Indian Oil Corporation, Mr. Singh played key role in the commissioning of Panipat Refinery and strongly believes that “industries need to develop and nurture holistic entrepreneurship amongst each individual to achieve distinction in all endeavors”. Further impact of such training programs on the behaviour and performance of employees are discussed in detail in research paper.
