This paper presents a discussion on the growth of Indian spices economy during the period from 1990-91 to 2011-12 with reference to the following growth indicators such as, area, production, domestic market, export and export value. It concludes that area cultivation of spices in India degrew at an average rate of -0.3 percent per annum with acceleration over time. Regarding production of Indian spices, the average trend growth was positive at 2.5 percent with meager acceleration of 0.1 percent over time. In case of domestic market of Indian spices, β1 and β2 both are positive and statistically significant, implying 2.3 percent growth in domestic market over time. Regarding export of Indian spices, the average trend growth was positive at 5.9 percent with meager acceleration of 0.05 percent over time. Since β1 is reasonably significant at 1 percent level, the growth rate of export value of Indian spices was 17.4 percent during the period of analysis.
