Mango being a seasonal fruit grown in abundance and available only during a maximum of 3 months in a year, storage would be possible only in the form of pulp or other products. This also only would ensure economic benefits to all stake holders. In order to analyse the financial performance of mango pulp industry in Tamilnadu, the present study considered various accounting ratios to study profitability, liquidity and stability. Even though operating profits were made, the net profits were found to be negative in many cases because of the impact of very high debts. As a result the interest burden weighed very heavily down on the net profits and overall return on capital. It was found that the business offers very good opportunity which can be utilised for the benefit of the cultivators, processors on the one hand and consumers on the other hand. This is all the more important since the areas of mango cultivation are arid ones and may not be otherwise beneficial, utilizing this to the best advantage need to be given top priority. More since this would help in up lifting this industrially and economically backward area.
