“Governments foremost job is to focus society on achieving the public interest. Governance is a way of describing the links between government and its broader environment, political, social and administrative” (Thomas B Riley). Deepening digitalization and globalization has induced an ongoing societal transformation that may ultimate prove to be as significant as the original industrial revolution. Digital maturity is not just about what technology enables. Digitally mature organization is able to adapt and align their strategy, workforce culture and technology to meet ongoing digital advances in a way that other organizations struggle to achieve. Smart city governance helps local government make cities smarter to foster a better quality of life through sustainable economic growth eg., smart transportation, solution for vehicle tracking, optimal fuel consumption, smart waste management, smart water distribution and monitoring system, smart energy management. This paper concludes with solutions to digital disruptions and its impact on e-governance.“Governments foremost job is to focus society on achieving the public interest.
