From the very beginning the Prime Source of Agricultural Credit in India was Moneylenders. Banks, Regional rural banks etc. to provide adequate credit to farmers, at a cheaper rate of interest. In India agricultural credit are being advanced by different sources. The short term and medium term loan requirement of India formers are mostly met by many lands, co-operative credit societies and Government. Institutional Credit is also not exploitative in character. From the above analysis it has been revealed that the extent of agricultural credit in India is very much inadequate and the private non-institutional sources still remained.
