The career guidance and Career counseling instruments can help us to understand our personality traits, emotional intelligence, strengths, motivations, interests and values. We have discussed here ten online self-assessment instruments. Most of them are free. ‘Big Five Personality’ assessments divide people into five personality traits: Extraversion, Conscientiousness, Openness, Neuroticism and Agreeableness. ‘Career Development Inventory’ helps us to make realistic career-related and educational decisions. ‘iSeek Clusters’ survey helps us to learn more about ourselves. ‘Holland Code’ assessment identifies six personality types: Artistic, Investigative, Realistic, Conventional, Social and Enterprising in which we belong. ‘Keirsey Temperament Sorter’ identifies our four basic temperaments: Guardian, Artisan, Rational and Idealist. ‘MAPP’ assessment test taken at Assessment.com, informs us what we love to do and what we do not love. Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator identifies our personality types into sixteen: Inspector, Protector, Advocate, Architect, Crafter, Artist, Mediator, Thinker, Persuader, Performer, Champion, Debater, Director, Caregiver, Giver and Commander. ‘MyPlan.com’s Career Personality Test helps us to identify right careers for us. ‘MyNextMove’ helps us to understand our interests related to work. ‘Predictive Index Behavioral Assessment’ identifies our primary personality characteristics that predict, explain and describe our day to day workplace behaviors.
