The term `whistle-blowing' is a relatively recent entry into the vocabulary of public and corporate affairs, although the phenomenon itself is not new. Whistle blowing is the confidential disclosure by an individual of any concern encountered in the workplace relating to a perceived wrongdoing. In India, President Pranab Mukherjee assented the Whistleblowers Protection Bill. The new whistleblower law is a significant achievement. Different countries have taken different measures to ensure safety of the whistle blowers. The past has witnessed many corporate scandals and the happening of various incidents with the whistle blowers.
