Existence for humans seems to be something imposed by an unknown force. It is hard to find an apparent meaning for their suffering. The human beings in their chaotic world try to find meaning for the unfathomable life. The play ‘Waiting for Godot’ captures this feeling. The play belongs to the group of absurd plays. The literature of the Theater of the Absurd interprets humanity's plight as purposefulness in an existence out of harmony with its surroundings. Even though there is inaction and the pointlessness of existence in their life they wish to proceed. Thus the play resembles the existentialist literature and deals with existence or identity. The momentary and internal time mentioned in ‘Waiting for Godot’ is related to man’s mental condition. The allocation of the concept of existentialism is allocated with awareness and beingness of human beings. The two tramps Vladimir and Estragon constantly complain about the slowness of time. The play speaks about the meaninglessness of life. The realisation of this drive human to rely on amorphous and outside forces which may be real or unreal.
