Arun Joshi’s real life experiences have contributed immensely in becoming themes of his novels and they venture to discover the concealed reality of his own life. His works neither offer entertainment nor serve as vehicles for bringing forth some set of ideas. The medium of literature is used by him for portraying human predicament based on the motives responsible for an individual’s actions and reactions on his/her mindset. Arun Joshi explores deep into the darkened parts of human psyche where the instincts and impulses are very active. In his maiden novel The Foreigner, He makes an earnest attempt to seek the process of apprehension of reality. This pursuit enables him to reach the core of human life.
