There were different modes of teaching languages in the West and the East. Those systems of teaching languages were in polarity of irreconcilable feature of. In England of post-Roman times, English became the mark of its cultural identity while Anglo – Saxon settlers made it a combination of words of Latin, Greek and English. English as a language of composite identity had its linguistic roots in scientific spirit of the Greeks who gave institutional base to learning English by thinking in terms of singular language units of thought processes. It was consistent with the Greek tradition of Plato’s Academy in Athens and spirit of scientific enquiry.
