Novelists in their works present an analysis of social problems of married women who lose their identity in the patriarchal society. Those women struggle to search for identity. Rajam Krishan is one among the writers who has raised voice against the struggle of these women. Her Lamps in the Whirlpool brings out the sufferings of women who meltdown herself in the circle of her family. She brings out the burning fire of a woman who loses herself in taking care of the household works. She is like a lamp in the whirlpool. She loses her individuality and later searches for it.
