The Emergence of New Man in English vs Tamil Novels: A Select Study, focuses on how the centuries old man still strives hard to hold on to their older position of being the protector of ‘weaker sex’ and how they met with their sudden demise with the emergence of the new woman. It is not an easy job for him to do so as he has been treated as someone being next to God. As the man happens to be the centre of power, he carried the air of arrogance naturally in his attitude. His outlook on life is based on his own belief and ethics – belief as he created and ethics as he motivated. His thoughts are self-centred and he did not care for his counterpart. In his mind women are of weaker sex and they are not useful except for domestication. He cannot state openly that his wife is the caretaker, so he glorified her stay in his home as the ‘angel of the house’.
