Responding to the writer’s text is a daunting as well as a time consuming task. In the present scenario the teachers spend maximum time in responding to the student texts in and outside the class room. Special attention to the students’ text is rarely possible in the large size class room by the teacher. Writers typically intend their text to be read and to be responded. Therefore responding to the students’ text can be done through teacher written feedback. Despite increasing emphasis on the importance of oral response and the use of peers as source of feedback teacher written response continues to play a central role in most L2 writing classes. This paper will explore the issue of teacher written feed back in detail and will focus how it helps in developing second language writers writing skill. Keywords: feedback, peers, personalized comments, positive attribute, thoughtful reflection etc.
