In India, there are private institutions which teach Spoken English. Spoken English cassettes and CDs are available online or in the market. Corporate or multi-national companies give communication skills and soft skills training to their employees. Colleges conduct Spoken English classes to enhance the communication skills of the students to help them get jobs in corporate companies in India or overseas. Spoken English classes succeed or fail due to various reasons. This study examines various issues like teachers' attitudes towards teaching and self-learning, students' attitudes towards learning, workplace politics, etc. which influence the teaching and learning in Spoken English classes in India.
