This paper discusses how transculturalism alienates one of his cultural roots and how to adapt to one‟s new culture without giving up one‟s fundamental identity in the novels of Rohinton Mistry with respect to Tales From Firozsha Baag. The works of Rohinton Mistry focus on the culture and lifestyle of the Parsi community and the problems to change their well-known personal habits in the adopted country. Born in India and resident in Canada, the author explores both Canadian and Indian identities; how these are created and destroyed, how they overlap and fuse with one another. Key Words: transculturalism, Diasporas, cultural encounter, alienation, dual identity etc.
