Chetan Bhagat is a visionary writer. Like Charles Dickens, Chetan Bhagat presented the rigorous and rigid life of youth in the hands of corporate world in this globalisation period. In his debut novel Five Point Someone: What Not to Do at IIT, Chetan opens doors for the readers to understand the education system at IIT and invites tremendous changes from eminent academicians. This novel is a satire on middle class families who always invest money on education and consider it as a market. The writer has penned the inner voices of students, who are always under pressure with the academic regulations. This paper examines how Chetan Bhagat presented the self articulations of budding engineers through his characters. This paper presents the dark side of education system and invites the omissions and commissions in academics. Since many people spend 30 % to 35% of life in educational institutes, the writer recommends a peaceful and rightful life to the students.
