Bathsheba is the heroine of Far From the Madding Crowd. She is the leading character of the novel Martha Sharbe, one of Hardy’s aunts, was the model for Bathsheba. Bathsheba is one of Hardy’s six greatest Heroines. She is a little overshadowed by some among her company, but she gains beauty from the story of which she is the centre.
