Life is a journey for everyone in the world. The Pilgrimage is a novel about one’s mystical journey and it takes hold of an imperative consign in Paulo Coelho's literary catalogue. Moreover, this novel is considered as a spiritual enlightenment towards the self- invention. It is a biographical but also an imaginary narrative of his journey in the famous pilgrimage road to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. Coelho recalls his past experience and says that it is a travel to his soul to realise his inner identity and get hold of the power to grow to be a writer. He conveys his personal experiences on the road to Santiago de Compostela in the region of Galicia known as Celtic Spain. On the journey, Coelho and his mentor face tribulations and devilish hindrances that make the journey complicated. However, Coelho discovers himself fully with the help of his mentor's teaching and with his own perceptive. The intention of the expedition discloses itself as Coelho converts himself. On the whole, Coelho writes to influence people to change their perspectives on certain life issues and guide them in achieving personal power with profound wisdom.
