P C K Prem (P. C. Katoch) is an academician-turned bureaucrat who after teaching in various colleges in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab shifted to civil services and later on retired as member of HPPSC. A tri-lingual (English, Hindi and Pahari) poet, novelist, short-story writer and critic, he is associated with several literary journals. He is the recipient of Sahitya Academy Award (HP) and several other literary awards. He has seven books of poems in English including Contemporary Indian English Poetry from Himachal-edited. They are 1) Enigmas of an Identity 2) Those Distant Horizons 3) The Bermuda Triangles 4) Oracles of the Last Decade 5) Rainbows at Sixty 6) Among the Shadows 7) Of This Age & Obscurity. I have taken up the first five poetry collections as part of my critical assessment and evaluation on P C K Prem.
