In today’s global scenario, English has become a global necessity. The job market demands highly skilled personnel with good communicative abilities. But, the English language teaching-learning output is not at all encouraging as per the employers’ survey reports. As it is globally acceptable means of communication employers’ expect optimal level of communicative skills. The National Employability Report by ‘Aspiring Minds’ revealed that inadequate English and computer skills are the key factors which may graduates employable. So, proficiency in English has become imperative in this 21st century. Considering the significance of English the researcher conducted a study to identify the personal, psychological barriers which hinder the learning output of the learners. The study attempts to identify the obstacles in the process of language learning at the UG level. It also attempts to find out the remedial measures to minimize these problems to facilitate the language learning environment. Keywords: Structured Interviews, personal, psychological barriers, individual differences, remedial measures etc.
