The paper entitled “NARRATING DALIT WOMANHOOD IN BAMA’S NOVELS” describes the plight of the Indian woman and their forsaken childhood days. The introduction deals with Bama’s own life revealing their day to day plight. Secondly it deals with Bama’s childhood days and her literary carrer and some other contemporary writers of Bama’s period. Thirdly deals with the segregation of caste hierarchy according to the Hindu puranic scriptures named “Manusmriti” and the impact of the system till now. Fourthly it deals with the position of Dalit women in the outside community as well as inside home. Dalit women are dually oppressed on account of the community and on the basis of gender. This also recounts the character named “maikanni” from Bama’s “Sangati” to add evident. Finally it narrates about the subversion of caste and gender bias that had been handled by Dalit women in a vigorous as well as skilled manner to protect them from its root cause.
