Anita Nair is a writer of novels, short stories and children’s books. She is also a leading columnist. Her first book, “Satyr of the Subway”, was an anthology of short stories. Her novels present a gallery of real life characters. She documents the injustice, violence, crude social system imposed on women in society. Her characters provide a model to shed the tag of victimization and provide a pattern for self assertive consciousness. Her writings clearly state that Nair as a writer is not bound to a particular ideology which would limit her boundaries of thoughts and writing.
