Parenting is a bless and bliss and it is an art, skill, creativity, identity ….Every Individual’s secret of success is the great-hearted efficient efforts and sacrifices of his/her parents. Psychologists say that parenting has been categorized into four parts. 1. Authoritative parenting 2. Authoritarian parenting 3. Permissive parenting and 4. Uninvolved parenting. Among four Authoritative parenting is superior because it deals with positive reinforcement, infrequent use of punishments and creates bond and give and take atmosphere. A child will be molded into healthy, understandable and prosperous citizen. At times parents also should play the roles of a teacher, mentor, counsellor and advisor. R.K.Narayan has portrayed sanctity and aesthetic values of Indian parenting in his most of the novels.
