This research paper concentrates on the magical realism in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secret and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. The researcher has taken up these two novels by J. K. Rowling for study and analyzing magic realism. It also concentrates on some important aspects of the fantastic world of magic in the present novels. The Magic Realism first coined by Alejo Carpentier a novelist in Cuba in 1949. It describes the matter of fact combination of fantastic and every day in fiction. J. K. Rowling has effectively used the magical realism in her Harry Potter and series. Harry embodies the ideals of classes, virtuous society; his utopian society will never exist. Human nature has always, and will always, deny the emergence of perfect society. Therefore, it would be uncharacteristic of Rowling’s style, as magical realist, to end her controversial series with onset of utopian society. As such, one might infer that Rowling intentionally leaves certain issues unresolved to safeguard against a ‘fairy tale’ ending.
