Intolerance has been the most common word in news for the last few years. It occupies the front page of each newspaper and headlines of electronic media. It storms the parliament as well as the tea table. Intolerance is unwillingness to accept the beliefs or behaviour of others which is different from ones own beliefs or behaviour. The word comes from a combination of the Latin word in- meaning ‘not’ and tolerantia meaning "to bear, endure.” Intolerance is what leads to hate crimes and discrimination. Commonly it is used with respect to religious intolerance, which means unwillingness to accept different religious beliefs.
