Gender Equity is a theme in literature from ancient times. It is variously named as gender-bias, anti-feminism, etc. It took social and political turns, became a successful movement called Feminism which went through four waves. It did create world-wide awareness and has won significant legal victories and social recognition. In literature , however, it has been slowly replaced by the more acceptable term Gender Equity. Literatures across the globe feature this perennial theme of gender equity, often as a psychological and emotional struggle and a few times as a triumph of mind over matter. This paper aims to capture some notable moments which have transformed the growing awareness into a few worthy accomplishments.
