The story of this novel, A Married woman revolves around the married life of a woman of indian heritage, Astha. Kapur displays a mature understanding of the female psyche. She speaks as some-one who has lived through the unrest of the communal riots, which in some way affected the lives of all Indians. They struggle between tradition and modernity.
