This paper aims to envisage the multi dimensional uses of a newspaper that are interwoven with teaching English through English newspaper in an EFL classroom. As such, learning from the real world has a magnetic appeal on the students. That’s the reason why the newspaper has been accepted as a perfect teaching tool by many educationists. The English newspaper can be used as an efficacious teaching tool to improve the linguistic skills of the EFL students. Its use in the classroom will certainly encourage and motivate the students and help them to sharpen their LSRW (listening, speaking, reading and writing skills). Apart from that, using a newspaper in the classroom improves student’s vocabulary skills, increases knowledge and encourages a positive attitude towards learning. It is a very pragmatic teaching aid used by the teachers of EFL as it covers a wide array of knowledge and information. Hence, it has been acclaimed as a living textbook by some EFL professionals’. This paper throws some light on the ways that can be implemented on the professional usage of newspaper in an EFL classroom.
